Handy Linux Commands for Google Cloud Server

Assign “write” permissions of a folder to a user/group:

sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/populate

Terminal – Add user for ssh connection:

cd ~/.ssh (or cd to a directory where your ssh key is located)

ssh-add wp-ssh-key

Find Disk Space (Used and Available):

 SSH into your instance and do:

sudo df -h 

This will give you a nice summary of used and available disk space. Here is an example:
